Keeping it up

A bonus. Finished work on time, and the weather still good, so managed to fit in a 10 mile run to Spennymoor again. The trees are only just starting to turn for the autumn so the tracks remain well sheltered. The weather has a distinct chill about it though. It is probably the best running weather, not too hot and not too cold. Goldilocks would have approved.

Another long run

Well the running is going fairly well at present with the chance of another long run tonight. As it has been rain free for a few days took the chance for a run along the tracks before it gets too dark at nights. There is something quite depressing about the change in seasons, especially after such a dreadful summer. Running back from Spennymoor the light was already beginning to fade. Soon it will be the running leggings, gloves and warm hats. There is also the need to get some miles in so that the Great North Run won’t be a slow disgrace.

Back from Ireland

Back from taking our youngest to Ireland to start University. Had hoped to run while there but just wasn’t time. At least we managed to reach Bishop Auckland before it turned dark so took a chance at a 10 mile run. With all the rain, couldn’t chance the tracks so stuck to the roads. To add a bit of variety headed off to Etherley via a circuit of the town and a detour through Witton Park. Then up the long hill through Etherley before the even longer downhill run towards West Auckland. Just over 10.5 miles and a relief after all the driving and sitting around.
