Central Park day 4
27/08/08 21:43
Just about holding out. Exhausted but thrilled with our experiences so far.
Decided to run around Central Park, literally using the footpath encircling the park. Again about 6.5 miles total. A very different experience as fewer joggers, more purposeful walkers. Also a fairly strong smell of urine.
What was truly amazing were the buildings lining the park. The Dakota building where John Lennon used to live, the Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan museum of art, the Guggenheim museum, and so on. The scale of the buildings is so awesome. We are likely to have neck problems by the time we return to the UK.
One strange observation are the ‘power walkers’ they are people walking with very exaggerated arm gestures, almost like cross country skiers. I suppose it is a bit more of a workout.
Have not notice that many birds apart from pigeons, but lots of tree rats or grey squirrels.
