Another calf disaster!

After a very gruelling few days of work , managed to leave on time, and in time for a run in daylight. Took the track to Spennymoor, and despite the weekend long run was running well. After a couple of miles started to feel a twinge in the right calf. It became quite painful but not enough to stop running so rather stupidly decided to go for a full 10 mile run.

The pain persisted at around the same level so was hoping it would be run off. No such luck. After finishing and walking down to cool off the pain became much more uncomfortable. It was obvious that a muscle had torn and bled into the tissues as there was a bruise under the surface. It was very tender too!

I can’t believe that this should have happened again! At least this time it doesn’t seem to be in such a critical area. Well having learnt the lesson from last time, no running for a week. It will just have to be on the bike to keep the stamina levels going. WIll need to try and get some more physiotherapy.
